Private Reserve - Neon Pink

Private Reserve - Neon Pink - Ink Drop

Released in early 2022, Private Reserve’s Neon series inks are as energizing as the name suggests! Neon Pink is the brilliant, bright ideal of the perfect highlighter pink. Like three of the four Neon series inks that I have for testing, it is extremely UV fluorescent, too.

Swatch and Strokes on Cosmo Air Light

Neon Pink is a punchy, aggressive, light-to-medium pink. In terms of pinkness, this ink is overflowing with it! I have a number of very pink, light-toned inks, and quite a few strong pinks that are darker in tone, but this is probably the purest pink that I’ve used.

Look at that UV Fluorescence!

Words on the page glow, as if the color senses the reader’s gaze and celebrates the attention. A full page of writing is a little uncomfortably bright to my eyes but used sparingly to accent or decorate it’s an effective choice. A color like this is a powerful tool. For editing, accenting notes, or as a traditional highlighter, this ink is ideal. It really stands out!

Color Range

In terms of performance, Neon Pink is a very nice ink. It’s dry, but consistent, and it doesn’t cause any issues in flow. That dryness probably cuts down on any potential smudging making it even more effective as an editing or highlighting ink, too.

Clean Strokes on Rhodia

In writing, strokes are clean and sharp. There wasn’t any feathering at all on any of the papers I used for testing. It didn’t bleed through uncoated papers, and ghosting was minimal, too. Drying was fast in all cases.

Writing Samples

There’s no reason that you can’t use this ink for normal writing. For me, it’s a special use ink. I think it’s perfect for decorating journals, notes, and cards. It’s a very cheery ink! And for editing and highlighting, this is definitely going to be one of my go-to inks.

If you want a true pink, it’s hard to imagine not liking this one!

Ink Swatch Card

Special thanks to Private Reserve and Yafa Brands for sending this ink, and several others over to try. As always, my reviews reflect my honest opinions. I only review pens and inks that I enjoy and have used extensively, and I always include both the positives and the negatives that I find.
