Sailor - Manyo - Fuji

Sailor - Manyo - Fuji - Ink drop

Fuji is the second of the four dual-shading inks added to Sailor’s Manyo line. Named for the beautiful Mount Fuji Cherry tree with its abundance of brilliant, flowing pink and purple flower clusters, the ink is equally magical!

Sailor - Manyo - Fuji - Color Range

This is an aggressively spectacular ink. The splatter shows muted light violets and darker, dusty purples with hints of pink and peach. Written strokes combine these colors with a pale aqua blue in the base in lighter areas on uncoated papers. On coated papers, it’s more dramatic in the dark areas, and the purples explode from the page.

Sailor - Manyo - Fuji - Shading

Fuji offers a really pleasant writing experience. It’s both wet and controlled. Strokes are well-defined with a nice edging on coated papers, and the shading is glorious! It dries reasonably quickly on coated paper, and it’s fast drying on uncoated.

Sailor - Manyo - Fuji - Stroke Edge on Rhodia

This is a beautiful ink, but it’s extremely usable and never becomes inappropriate for professional use. I think the possibilities are almost endless for creative projects, and water brush users! It’s bolder than many of its similars, and like a superhero, I think you’ll really appreciate the combination of power and restraint. Enjoy!
