Tramol - Apricot Blossom

Tramol - Apricot Blossom - Ink drop

Today is another pigmented ink from Tramol. Packaging and branding for these inks are nearly identical to the pigment inks from Yuyi (previously reviewed). I believe Yuyi inks are made by Tramol, as well.

Tramol - Apricot Blossom - Beautiful Range!

This is Apricot Blossom, but I’ve also seen it listed as Nighthawk. The ink closely matches the background of Van Gogh’s Almond Blossom, which is the painting featured on the label (see final image). Interestingly, Van Gogh has another painting called Apricot Trees in Blossom, but this ink doesn’t match those colors at all.

Tramol - Apricot Blossom - Nice Shading!

Apricot Blossom is a lovely blue-leaning teal, but the yellow and green influences aren’t shy to surface! There’s a bit of plum-red sheening begging to blossom more fully. It’s very visible on the edges of areas of pooling on the splatters, and the decoration works well against the base. This is a pretty good shader for a pigment ink, and on coated papers it often lightens nicely on stroke ends. I think it’s a very attractive ink, and I’m always happy to have more options in pigment inks.

Tramol - Apricot Blossom - Ink Swatch Card

Apricot Blossom has a comfortable, fairly wet consistency. As a pigment ink, it’s very water-resistant. I didn’t have any problems with feather or bleed-through on any of the five papers tested. You need to practice diligent cleaning with pigment inks, but I didn’t have any problems. This is a nice writing ink.

Tramol - Apricot Blossom - Ink Swatch Comparisons

Tramol’s pigment inks and dye inks are available on AliExpress. At around US$2 per bottle, they are some amazingly affordable inks. These are good quality inks, and a brand you should have in your collection. I definitely recommend the series! Enjoy!
