Wow! This might just be my new favorite in terms of multi-chromatic inks. It’s delicate, yet confident at the same time, and the shimmer is just right. It’s stunning!

With the Friend Wind, a Dominant Industry limited edition. It’s a store exclusive only available at BestPen. Released with a second ink called Fall in Sunset, the names form a single-line poem. (I’ll feature the second ink in my next review.)

With the Friend Wind has a lovely, light greyish-blue base, but there are almost equally strong lilac and pink elements. I even see hints of a light, minty aquamarine green. The colors mix and swirl like leaves in the wind. It’s a very nice shading ink, but the crown atop this interesting blend is a beautiful, soft, very fine pink shimmer. It doesn’t overpower the coloration, but it decorates and highlights the complexity and variation. Beautiful!

I worried it would be too pale for writing, but for no reason. It’s very clear and legible, especially in medium or broader nibs. A darkened blue edging makes it very well-defined. It’s wet and performs well with no signs of feather. The shimmer hasn’t caused any issues at all, either. It’s a beautifully balanced writing ink.

I can’t recommend this ink enough. It’s truly gorgeous! If you like dual-shading inks or shimmer inks, you’ll love this one. Bestpen’s prices are very nice (US$9 a bottle for this one!) Do what you can to get a bottle of With the Friend Wind. You won’t regret the effort!
