Encre Classique - Rose Grenade
Rose Grenade is part of L’Artisan Pastellier’s Encre Classique collection. The Classique inks are their most affordable at just €3.90 for 30 ml if you order direct from the company’s website. They come in 24 colors and are extremely reliable, pen-friendly inks. They’re mixable and can be diluted with water, too. If you’re looking for a great deal, it’s hard to beat these inks!
Rose Grenade is a beautifully aggressive, brilliant pink. Translated to English, the name means pomegranate pink, and while pomegranates can produce such a rich and vibrant pink, I think it looks more like the pink of a dragonfruit. Either way, this is a fabulous pink!
The Encre Classique inks are all consistent writers. In the splatter, a dazzling 21K gold sheen drapes the edges of areas of pooling. In writing, the same gold can be seen from time-to-time on stroke edges on some papers. It’s never overwhelming, and simply adds a bit of decoration. I didn’t find any shading, but with everything else you might not notice. It’s a pleasantly wet, comfortable writing ink. If I have any complaint, the drying time is slightly longer than I prefer.
I often recommend L’Artisan Pastellier inks as a great way to develop and fill out a collection. They have so many nice colors to choose from in a couple different lines, and they’re extremely affordable. If you haven’t tried any, you really should!
