Aurora - Purple

Aurora Purple - Ink Drop

This ink packs a lot more beauty, than its simple name suggests, but maybe that’s no surprise given its origin. This is Aurora Purple! It’s an ink that teases sheen, shading, and nice definition.

Look at that sheen!

Visually, this is a bright, heavily saturated, magenta purple. This isn’t the standard, deep violet that a lot of heritage companies have in their catalogs. This is modern, energetic, and bursting with optimism. Coated premiums show a bit of shading, and there’s a nice halo on premiums, too. As the splatter shows, it’s a dynamic ink with dark edging on areas of pooling, and a band of yellow-green sheen. The main star, however, is the glowing beauty of this powerful purple!

Nice edging and definition!

As expected, Aurora Purple is a nice writing ink. It’s fairly wet and flows smoothly. Strokes were sharp on all six test papers both coated and uncoated. Drying was 15-25 seconds on most premiums, and under 5 seconds on office copy.

Aurora Purple - quick drying

I expected a nice ink, as it’s from Aurora, and I’m sure you’ll agree that it meets that expectation. However, I didn’t expect it to have such vibrant energy, or to instantly like it, so much! This is a fresh and modern beauty! It isn’t as strong a shader, as I’d like, but stick with coated premiums, and you won’t even notice!
