Today’s ink is Gravity Wave from Korean ink maker Colorverse Inks. It’s ink number 15 in their catalog, and part of their season 2 inks, which are themed around astrophysics. Just as originally released, it comes in a 2-bottle set, giving you both a 65ml and a 15ml bottle. Fortunately, it’s now also available in a 5ml mini bottle.

Visually, Gravity Wave is a very attractive, deep, rich teal, and equally shares aspects of both blue and green. At times, however, a subtle yellow undertone can be seen, which emphasizes the green influences. As the splatter shows, areas of pooling are coated in a vibrant, electric cinnamon-pink sheen. This carries over to written strokes as a generous sheen stroke edging on some papers. This is also a nice shading ink, and the frequent flashes of light add lots of personality to written passages.

In writing, Gravity Wave is both a high-viscosity, and smooth-flowing ink. On premium papers, strokes were sharp and clean. Edge sheening and shading were consistent and fairly strong on both coated and uncoated premiums. Drying was a bit long, however, at 20-30 seconds. Office copy suffered from slight feathering, but bleed-through was significant. Shading was reduced, and sheen disappeared completely. As usual, drying was 5 seconds, but you’ll want to stay away from office copy paper with this one.

Colorverse Gravity Wave is a gorgeous teal. If you’re using premium papers, then I think you’ll be pleased. However, if it’s office copy, I’d avoid this wave. The show through is more pronounced than I can overlook. There are lots of other very nice Colorverse inks that don’t have this problem.
