KWZ Ink - Orange

KWZ Ink Orange - ink drop

Today’s ink is Orange from the ink magicians at KWZ. Just like the ink, the name gets straight to the point. Like most KWZ inks, this orange has the calming scent of vanilla.

Visually, this is a deep, rich, highly saturated orange, with nice color variation across strokes on some papers. It’s a nice shading ink, with hints of tomato red in darker areas, and sunshine yellow-orange traces in lighter areas. The splatter shows a textured red pooling with burnt tomato edging, and a white-silver sheen outer ring. This is a very attractive, very vibrant ink.

As a writing ink, Orange performed well, like most KWZ inks. It has a medium viscosity, with good flow. Strokes were clean, sharp, and consistent across all papers tested, with just a slight feather on office paper using wet, medium nibs. I didn’t find any sheen or halo in writing. Shading was seen on all papers, and was strongest on Rhodia, Kokuyo, and Apica. Drying times were consistently fast. Rhodia and Mnemosyne were slowest at 10-20 seconds. Kokuyo was fastest among premiums at 5-15 seconds, with the others at 10-15. Office copy dried in under 5 seconds. This is a nicely versatile ink.
