Monteverde Capri Blue is pure, capital ‘B’ Blue! When people ask me for a really attractive, medium blue, it’s among a short list of inks that immediately come to mind. Monteverde makes a few medium blues that are close, but for me, none are as stunning as Capri Blue!

Capri Blue is an electric cobalt that screams off the paper. It’s bright and glowing, and it reminds me of Iroshizuku Kon-peki in both personality and purity of color. (It’s also at least half as expensive!) It shades nicely and shows off a pink-red sheen on some papers.

Like many Monteverde inks, it dries reasonably quickly, flows smoothly, and is very pen-friendly (unlike an alternative blue from a bay state. I just don’t know why people risk that one, when there are other equally appealing options.) Capri Blue is a very nice writing ink.

This is an easy ink to recommend. Bright, rich, and punchy, wet, smooth, and well-behaved, it has it all. Capri Blue deserves your attention! Simply put, this ink is a superstar blue!
