Iroshizuku - Ama-iro

Pilot Iroshizuku - Ama-iro - Ink drop

I always enjoy Pilot’s Iroshizuku inks. Ama-iro is a rich, vibrant light blue, sometimes called a turquoise blue. I’m my experience, the Iroshizuku line is a consistent, well-behaved, high-quality selection of inks, and Ama-iro lives up to this reputation.

This is a vibrant blue that shows lighter aspects on some papers, and a deeper blue on others. I was quite surprised to find only the slightest hint of red sheen in the ink splatter. I expected a strong red sheen would appear. This ink dries quickly, provides a decent range of shading, and is easy to manage.

I probably enjoy this ink more than most similar light blue or turquoise inks in my collection. Highly recommended!
