I wasn’t sure how I felt about Chiku-rin initially, but it quickly became a real friend. In fact, before this ink, I didn’t connect with inks in this range of green nearly so readily. The name Chiku-rin means “bamboo forest”, and that really fits well. It has the brightness and life that younger shoots exemplify. It’s a happy green with a lot of energy and smile.

Pilot’s Iroshizuku inks are consistent, smooth performers, and Chiku-rin is no exception. It dries fast and cleans easily. There are no concerns of feather or show-through here. I'll have to get the bigger bottle fast, as sadly this is one of the three inks discontinued at the beginning of 2022. That's a shame, too, because this is a very pleasing green beauty!
