Pilot Iroshizuku - Kon-peki - Ink drop

Iroshizuku Kon-peki is arguably the king of blues, and for good reason! There are a number of nice blues in the Iroshizuku lineup, but Kon-peki is easily the best seller of the bunch. For color and writing experience, this ink is a serious superstar!

Kon-peki is a beautiful, glowing, deep azure blue. Upbeat and optimistic, it leaps off the page, and the contrast against crisp, white paper is brilliant. The subtle, almost subconscious influence of yellow components is really what sets this ink apart. There is a bit of shading on certain papers, but this isn’t a heavy shader. There’s just enough to add interest. The splatter and swatch show a candy red-pink sheen, but in writing it almost never appears. This ink is all about the color, and wow is it a nice blue!

Pilot Iroshizuku - Kon-peki - Rich edge

Pilot Iroshizuku inks are some of my favorites (Tsuki-yo is my go-to pen-testing ink). Kon-peki is well-behaved on all but the cheapest of papers. On most, there’s not a hint of feather, and for such a rich blue, there’s only a touch of bleed-through. It’s a nice, wet, very comfortable writing ink.

This is an ink, that I think it would be difficult not to like. It’s a blue that immediately brings a smile! Unlike another famous blue from a state with a bay, this one cleans nicely and can be trusted. I recommend it to all!
