Pioromaniak Cookie fountain pen ink drop

Pióromaniak - Ciasteczko “Cookie” - Ink drop

This is Ciasteczko (Cookie) from Poland’s Pióromaniak. Cookie, along with Christmas Tree and Ho, ho!, is part of a Christmas 2020 special release, and was limited to 66 bottles of each. Pióromaniak worked with Czech ink maker Inkebara to develop three festive, holiday colors.

Visually, this is an extremely attractive ink. It’s deceptively simple at first glance, and quickly grows on you. Pióromaniak calls it a cinnamon brown. It reminds me a bit of KWZ Honey (one of my favorites), but with a touch more buttery yellow, and a dark edging. The name is perfect, as it really does resemble a gingerbread cookie. It’s a moderate shader, with a very nice dark halo. I really like the look of this ink!

As a writing ink, Cookie performs beautifully. I rated it a “great” on the five premium papers tested. Strokes were sharp and clean. The dark halo edge really made strokes pop off the page. Shading gives a lovely contrast that decorates writing and adds personality. Drying was between 15-30 seconds. On office paper, there was a slight feather, and the halo edge was absent, but shading was still quite nice. Drying was a quick 5 seconds.

Pióromaniak Cookie is more than a holiday treat. I’m really impressed with this ink. It’s gorgeous on good paper, and writes really comfortably. Like any good cookie, one bite and you’ll definitely want more. It’s delicious!
