This ink took me by surprise. It’s so much more than I expected! Dusky Pink is a beautiful ink. Originally from a miniseries of 1980’s colors, it’s now a standard Robert Oster ink.

Dusky Pink is really more of a pinkish purple than a dark or purplish pink. It’s soft and slightly undersaturated, simultaneously giving it both a gentle, vintage look, and a modern aesthetic. I consider it in the red wine family of colors, but it’s the pinkish influences that set it apart.

As a writing ink, coated papers allow the ink to really sing. It’s a bit dry, so wetter, broader nibs are the way to go here. That said, I like it on high-quality uncoated papers, too. It’s softer, and powdery, but equally pretty. It’s not great on cheap copy papers, as it can be overly undersaturated, and some odd colorations can develop. If you choose wisely, this is a very nice writing ink.

This is such an attractive ink. I’m not sure why I don’t see it more often. It really deserves a lot more attention! Enjoy!
