Sailor Manyo Haha fountain pen ink drop

Sailor - Manyo - Haha - Ink drop

Haha is a chroma-shifting enigma! This ink was an immediate hit, and I think everyone wants or has a bottle. The name is confusing, as “haha” means “mother”, but it comes from shape of the Woven Hat Lily, rather than for its color.

At its base, this is a soft, gentle, beautiful aqua blue with a hint of grey, but it erupts in gorgeous greens, pinks, and violets that float through the ink like billowy clouds. It’s really quite stunning, but some will find it a bit too undersaturated overall for extended use as a writing ink. With the right nib and paper, this isn’t as much of a concern, but with others it will be.

Sailor - Manyo - Haha - Shading

In writing, it’s neither wet, nor dry. It’s not a problem in terms of flow, but it’s definitely not as wet as I expected. Drying was average, and you find a moderate level of shading. There’s more color blending, than really strong shading. There are no issues with feather or bleed to worry about.
