Tono & Lims - Aichi: Blessed With Happiness - Ink Drop

Tono & Lims have put out a number of inks in their Japanese Prefectures mini-series. Today’s lovely lavender violet is part of that series. This is Aichi: Blessed With Happiness (Aichi). Aichi prefecture is located on the coast in central Honshu Island. It includes the city of Nagoya and is 300 km from Tokyo. I’m not sure how the color connects with the area.

Many of my violets and purples tend to be quite aggressive. Tono & Lims Aichi is soft, and gentle compared to many. It's a very comfortable violet on the eye. I think it compares well with inks like Waterman Tender Purple, and Iroshizuku Murasaki-shikibu. Tono & Lims have blessed Aichi with a beautiful color.

In writing, it brings to mind sunshine and Spring flowers. There is no real sheening to talk about, which surprised me a bit. It's a decent shading ink, which is nice, and the lack of sheen keeps it clean and pure. I didn’t have problems with feathering, found strokes to be crisp and sharp. It dries quickly, too.

Aichi: Blessed With Happiness is a beautifully clean purple. Simplicity and pureness are its strengths, and I suspect this is what blesses it with happiness!
