Warning! Shimmer ahead! Today’s ink is Kazabana from Tono & Lims’ Snow Paradise series. Kazabana means “snow flurry”, and that only begins to describe this ink. It’s a full blizzard!

Tono & Lims - Kazabana - Shimmer

This is a beautiful polar white, pale blue. In some areas, it has the blue glow of glacial ice, but in others it’s transparent, and nearly colorless, with only the lightest touch of blue. Tono & Lims are masters of shimmer, and this is an avalanche of extremely fine, brilliant platinum. You can see there’s some nice shading, with various aquas and the palest of blues, but it’s drowning in shimmer flurries!

Technically, this ink performs well as a writing ink. It flows nicely, and strokes are sharp. However, it’s too pale for long reads, and the shimmer seems determined to get absolutely everywhere. Drying was 15-20 seconds on premiums, and under 5 seconds on office copy.

This ink has the beauty, and the quiet intensity of snow flurries, as well as their chaos. It’s a beautiful ink, but it’s not practical for normal writing. It’s perfect for cards, titles, design accents, and other artistic uses. It’s definitely an intense shimmer. You’ll either love it, or you’ll hate it! If you like the color, but not the shimmer, look for Tono & Lims Yuki.
