Tono & Lims - Regulus

Tono & Lims - Regulus - Ink drop

Tono & Lims Regulus is a beautiful chameleon. It's a unique ink that behaves in a variety of very unexpected ways. The swatch looks very different from the splatter, but that’s part of the mystery of this ink.

Tono & Lims - Regulus - Incandescent Light

From the ink swatch, it appears as a bright, sky blue with a tiny hint of green and yellow in the more heavily inked areas. (The swatch card image isn't a mistake. It's exactly as it appears in person!) On Rhodia dot pad it shows more of a medium teal with darker haloing, and there's even a touch of almost reddish sheen in the extremes. Wow, already, but that's not all!

Tono & Lims - Regulus - UV Light

I can’t think of another ink that has such wide variation in color from swatch card to splatter! However, for its final trick, Regulus is a UV reactive ink.  Under ultraviolet lighting (blacklight) when wet, it gives off a yellow, fluorescent glow. Check out the UV image for a taste. The effect doesn’t last long once the ink is dry, but it’s an interesting feature.

While all of these tricks are interesting, Regulus really does stand on its own. This is a beautiful green teal that performs very nicely. Tono & Lims continue to prove themselves as one of the most innovative, interesting, and creative brands on the market. I can’t wait to see where they take us next!
