Tramol - Pine Forest - Ink drop

It’s another heavy sheener! Tramol Pine Forest is in many ways very similar to Tramol Volga River (previously reviewed), but they’re also quite different. I purchased them from the same AliExpress seller, and they go well together. Although the base colors appear quite close in the splatters, in writing Pine Forest comes across distinctly as a deep green rather than the blue of Volga River.

Tramol - Pine Forest - Strong Sheening!

Pine Forest is the kind of color that’s extremely difficult to accurately capture in photos. The splatter and swatch show it as a blue teal in both photo and to the eye. In writing, it’s very much a forest green teal, and I’ve included a close up of written strokes to give you an idea. Sheening, on the other hand, isn’t shy at all! The beautiful red-pink screams to be seen at every opportunity. Wet areas are covered in it, while written strokes are framed nicely by a cinnamon edging. Spectacular!

Tramol - Pine Forest - Color Variation

As for writing, Pine Forest performs very well. What strikes you is the rich, luscious, very pleasant consistency. Although it didn’t provide as much shading variation or frequency as Volga River, it dries quickly, and is a very similar writing ink. I’d recommend drier, finer-nibbed pens in order to minimize the potential for smearing.

I recommend Pine Forest to all sheening ink fans. I’m also still impressed with the other Tramol inks that I’ve tried. At under US$4 on AliExpress, this ink is a real bargain!
