Gorgeous! What a beautiful display of color and sparkle! From Van Dieman’s 7th series Underwater, this is Parrot Fish.

Like the flamboyant, multi-colored fish, this is a beautiful ink. The aqua blue-green base darkens in areas and is topped with a stunning pink-purple shimmer. The result matches the fish perfectly! Strokes are rich in color.

If you fill your pen without disturbing the shimmer in the bottle too much, you’ll find a beautiful deep aqua that shades with stunning light areas. It reminds me of the color variation in Caribbean waters as you go from deeper to more shallow waters. Shake the bottle before filling and strokes will sparkle and shine the electric pink of the shimmer. Both choices are impressive.

In writing, Parrot Fish performed well on all six test papers and dried in a very reasonable 10-20 seconds. The shimmer tends to get everywhere, but it’s a nice, fine-particled shimmer and cleaned easily out of feeds. In my experience, Van Dieman’s makes some of the nicest shimmer inks on the market!

I really like Parrot Fish, and the Underwater series, in general. I have several more samples to review from the series, and I’ve even ordered a couple more and a bottle, too! I’d call that a pretty strong recommendation! Enjoy!
