Wearingeul x Colorverse - Water-eaten Stars - Ink Drop

Today’s ink is called Water-eaten Stars (물 먹은별) and is part of a 4-ink series honoring Korean poet Jung, Ji-Yong (정지용). As you can see from the box image and bottle design, this ink is a collaboration between Wearingeul and Colorverse. The bottle and cap logo will look familiar to Colorverse fans, but the theme is very Wearingeul.

Water-eaten Stars is a gorgeous periwinkle blue. It’s rich, yet delicate and shades beautifully. Light areas show subtle hints of lavender that add a lovely, soft quality and helps show off the intensity and sparkle of the brilliant silver shimmer.

It’s a nice writing ink. Both crisp and clean, it looked great on all six papers tested. I didn’t have any problems with feathering, and the shimmer cooperated consistently well with no clogging or cleaning issues at all.

I bought this at a pen and ink shop in Korea, but the same ink is available today branded only as Wearingeul. It comes in the square, Wearingeul bottle and is called “A Watery Star”.

I’m a long-time fan of Colorverse, and I’ve been very impressed with Wearingeul inks. They’ve done something very interesting, and they offer washi tapes that perfectly match swatches of the four inks in the series. This is a nice ink, and an exciting brand to watch!
