This is Wearingeul Grape-colored Night. I think that many will find the gentle, yet showy color profile very attractive. I like this ink very much!
Grape-colored Night is from Wearingeul’s two-ink mini-series honoring Jung, Ji Yong. A poet, poetry translator, and teacher, he is widely considered a pioneer of modern Korean poetry. Like so many of his generation, his talents were the victim of the war. He mysteriously disappeared in Seoul in 1950, and he is believed to have died in Pyongyang prison.
Wearingeul - Grape-colored Night - Color and Shimmer
This is a soft, powdery, pastel grape purple. There is shading both light and dark, and the ink is rich in a magnificent platinum shimmer. On each paper I tested, it showed a slightly different blend of qualities and coloration. It shaded nicely on some coated papers and some uncoated, but on others none was found. There was a nice edge halo on some, as well. I really liked it on Apica uncoated, but it was particularly beautiful on Mnemosyne coated, too! Most inks excel on one style of paper, and I always like it when an ink smiles on multiple paper types.

I didn’t have any troubles with the shimmer. Both writing and maintenance were easy and painless. This is a beautiful, gentle grape with an impressive, starry show in the shimmer!
