Jam Ink - Kiwi
This is Jam Ink Kiwi, one of three inks from the brand that I picked up Bestpen in Korea. Jam Ink is made by Besen Masterpiece and is the in-house brand for their retail site Bestpen.
Kiwi is a really lovely, vegetal green. It’s strong and decisive in mood and gives a sense of health and vigor. I’d say that it closely resembles R&K Alt-Goldgrün and KWZ Gold Green 2, two of my favorite greens. It’s a decent shading ink on the right papers. There’s some nice darkening in areas of wet application on the splatter, and a touch of silver sheen, as well.
In writing, the dark edging halos strokes adding clarity and a clean profile, but I didn’t find any sheen. Visually, I preferred it on coated papers. Again, there were a few tiny instances of feathering, and drying took a bit longer than I prefer, but it performed fairly well on all six test papers.
As I mentioned in reviews of their other inks, the problem here is finding a seller. So far, I’ve only seen them available in Korea through Bestpen (here’s a link to the Jam Ink retail page there), and through a reseller in the Philippines on Shopee.ph. Hopefully that will change soon.
