Pennonia - Zuzmó
Few companies have impressed me over the last couple of years, as much as Romania-based Pennonia. I’ve loved watching this innovative ink house grow, and highly recommend you give them a try. Their inks are consistently a pleasure, and with 15 colors of liquid shimmer offered, as well, they’re changing the market.
Today’s ink is Zuzmó or “lichen” in English. From their recent five-ink, shading mini-series, this is a beautiful and unusual multi-chromatic shading ink. Zuzmó begins with a lovely green-grey base, and develops highlights of peaches and pinks to create a true rainbow of lichen colors.
In writing, the dusty pink-peaches dominate stroke centers, but it’s the bright green edging that really makes strokes stand out. It’s an oddly beautiful ink that really grows on you.
As a writing ink, it performs very well. It’s easily readable on both coated and uncoated papers. Drying times were fast on all five test papers, and it cleans easily, as well.
I’ve been praising Pennonia for a long time, and they just keep getting better. I highly recommend Zuzmó, but if you’re new to Pennonia don’t hesitate to try others. You can’t really go wrong!
