Robert Oster - Monsoon Sky
Robert Oster Monsoon Sky is another of the Arizona-themed exclusives from Pen Chalet. The inks in the series are well chosen and match the theme nicely. Monsoon Sky has a nice, dark halo edging in written strokes, making stroke profiles sharp and well-defined. As a dark green-teal, the edging is less visible than with lighter colors, but there’s more going on here. The splatter shows a cinnamon pink sheen, and this can be seen on the stroke edging on some papers, as well.
The base color is nice, but for me, it’s less interesting than some of the others in the series. It’s a crowded market for green teals with dark pink sheen. I’d love to see more shading, as I think that would really set it apart.
As expected from a Robert Oster, this is a nice writing ink. It isn’t particularly wet, but it’s not dry in the least, either. It’s a nice consistent ink, and drying times were considerably quicker compared to some others in the series, so that’s a big plus in my view.
This is definitely a nice ink, and it performs very well. Home or office, I think it suits any setting, too. If you’re looking for a nice green teal, then this is certainly a great choice!
