Colorverse Alpha Ori - Ink Drop

Named for one of the largest stars in the sky, this is Alpha (a) Ori from Colorverse. It’s part of the Constellation series from volume 2 of the Colorverse Project inks. In their online catalog, it’s ink 012 in the limited/special edition section. The vibrant color is very appropriate, as this star (aka Betelgeuse) is also one of the brightest, with a clear orange glow.

Alpha Ori’s intense range and sheen!

Alpha Ori is a beautiful, vivid, reddish orange. This is a rich, lustrous ink that stands out clearly on the page. There’s a brilliant green-gold sheen that develops in areas of saturation, as well as on the edges of written strokes on coated papers. The color is in a popular range of oranges, and I’ve included a few other swatches for comparison. Alpha Ori is a very confident, bold, fun ink.

This ink has a beautiful, medium-viscosity consistency, and flows very comfortably. Strokes were clean and crisp, and drying was faster than expected for such a rich ink. I didn’t have any problems with feathering, but there was some bleed-through on some papers. I think you’ll enjoy this ink in writing.

So far, I’m really enjoying the Constellation inks from Colorverse. You’ll find them available in the Colorverse’s beautiful, 65ml signature bottles. If you’re looking for a nice, vibrant, reddish orange, Colorverse Alpha Ori is definitely a great choice! Enjoy!
