Dominant Industry Busodamak - Ink drop
Busodamak (부소담악) is named for a spectacular, winding cliff nicknamed “The Dragon’s Ridge” on the banks of Daecheong Lake in South Korea. The deep aquamarine blue of the ink is inspired by the clear blue waters of the lake. This is one of two special edition inks created by Dominant Industry for Autumn 2025 Seoul Pen Show.

This is definitely not a simple, light sky blue, or another light blue aquamarine. It’s the depth and immediacy of the blue and subtle green undertone that sets this apart from other aquamarines. While many aquamarines are difficult and impractical in terms of readability, Busodamak is bold and bright. It’s a strong shading ink on some papers (maybe too strong for some on Cosmo Air Light), but on most the shading is more controlled and gentle, and not distracting at all.

In writing, it’s clean and sharp with crisp stroke edges. There’s no feathering or spreading at all. Ghosting or show-through is not a problem, either. In flow, it is comfortably wet without feeling insubstantial. Drying times reflect this at just slightly longer than average in my experience. This is a nice writing ink. I’ve come to expect that from Dominant Industry, and this ink doesn’t disappoint.

As I mentioned, this was an Autumn 2025 Seoul Pen Show exclusive, but it is still available directly from Dominant industry (the same great price I paid at the pen show, too! KRW14,000 = US$9.39).
