Giftionery Delta Dojima Green Gold - Ink drop

Giftionery Delta in Osaka, Japan is one of my favorite shops. It’s run by great people and has a wonderful and extensive selection of inks, pens and related products! This is Dojima Green Gold. It’s one of four inks in a series inspired by the colors of Osaka with each of the four seasons. This is the second of the four that I have reviewed. This ink is particularly interesting and completely surprised me as I swatched it on various papers. Beautiful! It is available in-person, or through their online store (StyleDee.jp).

Ink Swatches on Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River

I’ve never seen such an ink transform so dramatically! From the brownish, green gold base color that you find on standard copy and some higher quality papers like Tomoe River, things start to go crazy (in a good way) when you try this ink on Cosmo Air Light, Iroful, and Takasago Bank paper from Yamamoto! On Bank paper, everything lights up like neon lights on a Saturday night. And I have don’t have any explanation for where the rich blues come from on CAL and Iroful, but it is incredible! The orange on the ink drop image (Rhodia paper) is spreading within the paper itself from oversaturation in the drop, but orange was not what I was expecting, either! Check out the writing sample on Cosmo Air Snow. Super shading with a more delicate personality, and strong hints of pink. This is a fascinating ink!

Ink Swatches on Takasago Bank and Iroful Paper

The ink was blended by Sailor, and you’ll recognize the quality. Writing performance and experience were both very satisfying. It was consistently clean and sharp in profile, and other than on the finger print area on the CAL swatch writing, I haven’t found any feathering. Writing feel is luxurious with the perfect blend of wetness and viscosity. And with quicker than average drying times, this is a great writing ink.
