Ñ Mediterráneo - Ermitaño - Ink drop

Today’s ink is Ermitaño or “hermit” for the hermit crab. It’s part of the 3-ink Mediterráneo series from Ñ. This is a limited-edition series (150 bottles - 50 of each color) celebrating the Spanish pen & ink Facebook community. The series was inspired by the Mediterranean Sea. The Prodis Foundation, a group providing employment and social integration for people with intellectual disabilities, handled assembly. All profits go to this fantastic organization.

Ñ Mediterráneo - Ermitaño - Ink color variation

Ermitaño is a lovely, bright mid-red that matches the wonderful packaging photo. It’s a strong, pleasant red that brings tomato and cranberry to mind. It’s also a nice shading ink allowing plentiful lights and hints of dark reds to develop. Light areas reveal subtle orange influences that add personality and calmness. A touch of bronze sheen can be seen in the splatter, but none was seen in writing. I like this red very much.

Ñ worked with Pennonia Inks to create the series, and Ermitaño is a high-quality writing ink, as you would expect. It’s smooth on the page with a consistent flow. Neither wet, nor dry, it has a comfortable feel. It also dries fairly quickly, which always makes me happy! This is a very nice writing ink.

The Ñ Mediterráneo inks were limited to 50 bottles of each color, so they weren’t available for long. I’m hoping that they’ll produce a second series in the future.
