Zephyr Studio Mirai e - Ink drop
This is Mirai-e or “To the future”. It’s one of the original five inks released by Zephyr Studio. Zephyr Studio inks are created in-house by stationery store Giftionery Delta in Osaka, Japan. I think the name captures the color well. Color trends over the past couple of years have favored blues that visibly highlight pink, green, or purple influences giving us the popular chromo-shading. This trend is current, and I think it’s popularity looks to the future, as well.
Ink Swatches on Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River
In writing, I see a beautiful, modern, almost creamy blue on most of the high-quality papers used for testing. In the swatches, you can see the varying levels of lavender undertones. Takasago Bank is the outlier with its strong yellow highlights that result in a deep aquamarine green. On all papers including standard office copy, this is a nice shading ink.

Writing performance was exceptional on all papers. It consistently produced clean, crisp written strokes. There is nothing to worry about in terms of feathering. Writing experience was also very pleasing. It’s smooth in feel and flow. Drying times were well within the normal range on all papers, too.

Mirai-e comes in Zephyr Studio’s 20 ml bottle. If you’re in Osaka, you can buy it directly from Giftionery Delta. The store is filled with ink, pen, and paper temptation! You can also order it from their online shop (www.styledee.jp) and ship internationally, or pick it up from other select vendors in Asia.
