Zephyr Studio Port Blue - Ink drop

Port Blue is the first ink of the original five from Giftionery Delta’s Zephyr Studio that caught my attention. The cute dog on the bottle label and box faces away, as if he’s sitting on the dock looking out to sea. Is he deep in thought, or longing for a distant friend? When the brand first launched, it was the intriguing image of this dog that caught my attention on social media.

I’ve reviewed well more than 800 inks at this point, yet somehow, this blue offers something new! Based on the label, I was expecting a pretty aqua or light sky blue. I’ve seen a lot of those, and I wasn’t expecting to the color to be anything more. The moment ink hit the paper, I found myself delighted with eyes wide open! This blue balances aqua, turquoise, and deep water blues in a way that I think maintains the best of each variety. It’s the peacock blue of Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku (one of my favorites) mixed with a tropical deep sea blue. I immediately loved it!

This is an excellent ink!
