Tono & Lims - Hakomoraito
Today’s ink was released in January 2021, and it’s part of Tono & Lims’ Friendship series. This is Hakomoraito. Friendship inks are inspired by members of the Japanese fountain pen community.
Visually, this is a gorgeous, deep green teal. It’s rich and saturated, and the color looks luxurious on the page. It definitely leans green, but there’s enough blue to place it firmly in the middle. In color, it closely compares with Tono & Lims Agnetha. One leans green, the other blue.
This is a shimmer ink, and the teal is topped with a decadent bronze-gold shimmer. Tono & Lims’ shimmers are always nice, and this is a lovely nano-particle shimmer. It’s a shading ink, and it displays a lot of shading for a shimmer ink. There’s also a nice edge halo, which keeps strokes well-defined.
As a writing ink, this is a very high-quality ink. It’s wet and smooth, and flowed very nicely on all test papers. I didn’t have any problems with clogging, and cleaning was trouble-free. Strokes were crisp and clean on all, as well. There’s no halo on office copy, but shading was consistent throughout. Drying was 10-15 seconds on most premiums (Rhodia was slightly longer), and under 5 seconds on office copy.
Tono & Lims Hakomoraito is a beautiful, rich, and luscious ink. It’s a very nice writing ink, too! If you’re looking for a shimmery teal green, I definitely recommend you pick up a bottle or sample!
