Tramol - Candy - Peach
This is my third and final ink in Tramol’s Candy Ink series, but there are five more colors to tempt you. These pigmented inks are extremely water-resistant, and it’s that combined with the array of nice colors that interested me in the series.
This is Tramol Candy Ink Peach. It’s a beautiful, vibrant, pomegranate magenta pink-red. Rich and bold, and the color lends confidence to written strokes. It’s a moderate shading ink with touches of lightness at stroke ends. There’s also a nice, brassy twinkle of sheen. In the splatter the sheen is textured and aggressive, but in writing it’s more of a subtle, thin coating. It adds beauty in both cases.
Candy Ink Peach is a nice writing ink under normal circumstances. It’s a wet ink, and I’d recommend pairing it with a drier writing pen. It dries quickly, which is always good. My only complaints are on heavily handled paper. I found that in the worst examples, it reacts to oils and feathers a bit, but in normal situations it wasn’t a real problem. On cheaper copy papers, it has a tendency to bleed-through a bit more than I would like. That may be solved by using finer nibs than the wet medium I used for testing. If you pair it well, it rewards you.
I’ve been very impressed with Tramol inks, and I love having a wide selection of color choices in a waterproof series. At US$4 per bottle on AliExpress (shipping included), Tramol inks are also some of the best values on the market! Don’t be afraid to try lesser-known, inexpensive brands. The rewards can be fantastic!
