Troublemaker - Dream (Damgo)
Troublemaker Dream (Damgo) - Ink drop
Dream (Damgo) is the second ink in the three-ink Dusk series from Troublemaker and @pensandturquoisebrown. This is part of the Hatch creator’s project from Endless Pens. Based on Pable Neruda’s poem Keeping Quiet, dusk is a time for reflection on the day. Was it a dream or a nightmare?
Ink Swatches on Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River
Dream is a beautiful, cool, greyish blue. This is a strong shading ink, and that’s really what makes it special! I think lots of fans of the more unusual blues will find this quite nice. It’s a dark blue, but very pretty with a delicate strength.
Ink Swatches on Iroful and Takasago Bank papers
I really enjoyed writing with Dream. The flow is neutral and the experience is filled with ease and comfort. The shading really is impressive on high-quality papers, and it’s fun to watch each stroke produce the great variation you see from light to dark. Darker areas have a nice stroke outline, while lighter areas fade to little more than a ghostly trace of the base color. It’s easily legible and beautifully varied. Bleeding and feathering were never a problem. Drying times were exactly what you want, too.

The three-ink set and the Dusk pen it originally was meant to accompany are no longer available. However, as of writing, individual bottles of Dream and Nightmare are still available. These are the big, 60 ml Troublemaker bottles, and the price is around US$20. You can find them at Endless pens.
Special thanks to @pensandturquoisebrown for sending samples of all three over in a vacation gift package! Check out all of her creative inspirations on Instagram.
