Wearingeul - Siddhartha
Wearingeul Siddhartha - Ink drop
Siddhartha is a Spring 2025 release from Wearingeul. It’s part of their World Literature series. The ink pays homage to the Hermann Hesse novel. The color evokes the golden sun under which Siddhartha’s journey to enlightenment enfolds.

This is a interesting ink in many ways, and I was excited to compare it with Heimdall (another orange from Wearingeul, and the review that will follow this one.) Siddhartha is a lovely deep orange that crosses the sky from red to yellow. As you will see in my images, it is warm and vivid on some papers, but much cooler in tone and almost dusty in appearance on others. In both cases, the color is rich, but the faces are quite different. There is some shading at stroke ends, but not it isn’t as aggressive as I was expecting. The transitions from light to dark are more gentle, which matches the sun that inspired it.

In feel, writing is neutral, but not never uncomfortable. In many ways, it is a very pleasant writing experience. The ink is consistent and never gives you reason to stop and reflect negatively on the experience. Performance was also very consistent. Strokes are largely clean and crisp, with only the occasional instance of micro-feathering on overly handled areas of the paper. It’s not something I would worry about.

I really enjoy rich dark orange inks, and this is a very nice example. I can’t decide if I prefer the matte or more bold appearance, but it is certainly a beautiful ink. You’ll find it in Wearingeul’s 30 ml bottles, and their reinforced packaging is some of the best in the business! Enjoy!
