Wearingeul The Wind Rustled Among Leaves (잎새에 이는 바람)
It’s nearly July 2025 now, and Wearingeul has spent the year staging two-week pop-up shops in various locations across Korea. The variety of products they have available is impressive. They brought most, if not all of their pen and ink related products, some of which I had never seen before. Three limited edition inks were available. I picked up The Wind Rustled Among Leaves (잎새에 이는 바람), a green teal chromo-shading ink.

Like leaves on a forest floor, there is a lot of variety in the color of this ink. On some papers, it clearly leans blue, but on others it is equally more a green. You see elements of both on all papers. Whether blue or green, it’s a nice chromo-shading ink with hints of yellow, orange, and pinks surfacing amidst the teal base color.

Writing performance was good overall. I found some micro-feathering on Cosmo Air Snow, and an occasional hint on other papers, but in general, strokes were pretty clean. I also found stroke-shading differences from paper-to-paper. Cosmo Air Snow had a lot, but Rhodia showed little to none. It’s a particularly nice ink on Midori! The ink has a neutral flow, but in wetter pens you don’t notice any dryness at all. My tests were in a medium Lamy 2000, and it was very comfortable on the page. Medium or broader nibs show off the color changes nicely, too.

So far, this ink is exclusively available at the pop-up shops. They offer it in their standard (but very nice) 30 ml bottle for around US$12.
